Current Series Synopsis
There is something stalking the streets of Minneapolis, and it’s preying on innocent girls. It falls to the resident Guardian, Syleth Reshay to stop the killer before it strikes again…

The Comic
If we want to go way way back to the beginning, then perhaps the very first concepts for Silent Shadow came about when I was in high school (ca. 1992). Mostly told in the form of either short stories or notebook sketches, they were mostly fan-service for whatever comic book, tv- or cartoon-series I happened to be a fan of at the time. For instance, around 1992/1993, most of the stories involved concepts taken (sometimes quite literally) from the tv series of the time, like Superforce and Star Trek: TNG,  the X-Men cartoon series and whatever books I happened to be reading during the time—which during 92/93, involved a hardy dose of Anne McCaffrey. Probably explains why I can’t stand her books now ;) The characters involved were my own creations but they had different names then. However, one thing stayed the same: the storylines were always based in Minneapolis (my hometown), no matter how much I got poo-poo’ed for that. Seriously, I think there are more than enough stories based in New York or Southern California to last several life-times.

At any rate, as the 90s progressed into the 21st Century and I found myself moving from fandom to fandom until I actually started gravitating away from really thinking of myself as a fan of any particular series. That is when the first concepts for Silent Shadow were developed. I finally got the idea to do something original and so about mid-2005, I started doing basic character concepts in Poser 5 and finally came up with a working concept for the lead characters Syleth and her partner Rowan. Some of my older concept art can be viewed here.

About Me
Not much to say about me, except that I just recently hit the 30 mark. I am currently a student at the Art Institutes International Minnesota, in the Web Design & Interactive Media Bachelor’s program. I’ve been into science fiction, fantasy, anime, manga, comic books, etc. to some greater or lesser extent for twenty-five of my thirty years. Despite the fact that I work as a janitor, I used to work for HCMC as a hospital housekeeper, but despite that I’ve had at least nine years of experience in web design: nine years of HTML/CSS and Active Server Pages, six years of PHP/MySQL (my preferred combination, actually) as well as some JavaScript and Flash. I’ve also had eight years of working with both Dreamweaver (when it was still Macromedia) and Adobe Photoshop, about six with Illustrator and finally, six years of working with Poser.
